Eating Our Words

Today Miss Ogle got us to 'eat our words'. As a part of our music video that we are creating for the MOA Awards, we got to eat cupcakes that had words on them. 

They were very tasty.

Geometry - Robots

For the next two weeks for maths we are learning to:

• describe the difference between movement and direction
• order a set of movement and direction instructions
• create a set of instructions

School Cross Country

We had a very successful Cross-Country today. It was great to see so many parents and family members supporting the children. Well done to everyone who ran today.

Maths: Circle Segments

Today we worked on a Circle Segments activity from the Figure It Out books. We had to cut circles into halves, quarters, thirds and sixths. We then used the fraction segments to find out more about fractions. If you view each of our individual blogs you will find out what we discovered.

On Friday we said goodbye, see you later to another member of our class. We wish Caleb well at his new school.

Certificates for Week 7

Congratulations to Sienna-Nicole for receiving the Principal's Award for Week 7. She has been persevering with her writing to add more detail, use paragraphs and use the correct punctuation.

Also congratulations to Jessica, Sequoia, Dante, Kade and Alex. They have been persevering with their reading and have made great improvements while working with the teacher or working independently.

Work on Writing: Cold Is...

For the last two weeks for Work on Writing we have been working cooperatively to create 'Cold Is...' poems. We have used the Book Creator App to help us put these books together. We then published them as a video.

Hour of Code in Room Totara

This week students have been giving 'coding' a go. They have been completing different coding levels in 'The Hour of Code'.

What is 'The Hour of Code'?

The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming.

Each student is working towards completing 'The Hour of Code' and when they do they will receive a certificate that looks a bit like this:

Stop Motion Finalised!!!

We have finally finished taking hundreds of photos and we have put them together to create our Stop Motion Animations.

Unfortunately we can not show you the final products as we are keeping them for the MOA Awards. We hope you can wait...
