Filming has begun!!!

For the last four weeks we have been:
- reading twisted fairy tales
- reading plays in School Journals
- writing twisted fairy tales
- writing and drawing storyboards
- writing scripts.

We are now onto the stage of filming our movies. We have three screens (green/white/black) set up around the classroom. We are using a Green Screen App to help set our backgrounds and are setting our actors/actresses to work and perform their different roles.

We can't wait for you see the final product.

A Slice of Time

On the first day of Term 2, we would like students to bring items to school for a Time Capsule. In this way we will be able to capture a slice of our time. The capsule will be buried on the school grounds. The items will be photographed and archived on the school blog. The items should represent something that reflects the way we live our lives today, so that when it is opened at the next jubilee it will be like a walk down memory lane. Please keep items fairly small and obviously non perishable.

Zoe brought in her family's Patu

Here is a photo of the Patu that she brought in.
For the last few weeks students have been working in different class. They have been learning about what life was like during three different times in New Zealand. On Tuesday Zoe was working with Miss Ogle, Miss Carlson and Mrs Potroz. We were talking about the weapons that were used during Pre European times. Zoe talked to her family and brought in a Patu that they had at home.

Technology in NZ in the past

This week we started working with different teachers to learn about what life was like in the past. In Room 15 students have been looking into what technology was used. Here is a sneak peak into what students will be working on with Mrs Potroz, Miss Ogle and Miss Carlson.
