More photos of our Movie Making

Certificates for Week 1

Congratulations to Dallas who received the first of the newly designed Principal's Awards. She has been showing all PRIDE Values in the classroom. Keep up the great work Dallas.

Reach for the Stars - Matariki Art and Writing

Last term we looked at stories based on Matariki. Here is our new wall display with our hands and our writing. The class had to work with a partner to write a sentence using a language feature we have learnt throughout the year. Some students wrote a sentence using alliteration, personification or a simile.

To help with our movie making what have been doing so fun warm up activities. We have been trying to say some well known tongue twisters.

Term 3

We have started Term Three off with a hiss and a roar. Room Totara has jumped right back into lots of work.
Today we saw the launch of Mana the Lion and all of our PRIDE rewards. Each class received a box of goodies with PRIDE Certificates, Mana Moments, Mana Tick-its, Principals/Deputy Principal's Certificates and our very own Mana.
We have a very large Mana the Lion (80cm tall) which Room 12 were proud to be presented with for the week. They were the best class during Assembly this week. Room 15 hope to receive Mana proudly in the next few weeks by demonstrating PRIDE in Assembly.

Opunake & Coastal News - June 19 2015 Issue

We made it into the Opunake & Coastal News for the second time this year. Thank you to Mrs Stanley who used her donation from Shell Todd Oil Services to buy our school some books. Mazzlin and Shakshi were the two students who thanked the ladies when they were presented to our school.

Maths: Statistics - Probability

For the last two weeks of the term we have been looking at Statistics - Probability.
Our unit has focussed on:
  • using dice to assign roles and discussing the fairness of games.
  • playing probability games and identifying all possible outcomes.
  • comparing and ordering the likelihood of simple events.
