Certificates for Week 9

Congratulations to Ria who was awarded with our last Principal's Award for the year. Ria has shown great perseverance and diligence in all of her school work. 

Congratulations to Zoe, Savannah, Jordan, Isla and Luke who received the last PRIDE certificates. They have been demonstrating PRIDE in their school work throughout the year. Keep showing PRIDE next year.

Certificates for Week 7

Karome received the Principal's Certificate for Week 7. He has been persevering with his positive behaviour in the classroom. Keep persevering Karome.

Congratulations to Dorian, Mac, Jordan, Savannah, Isla and Kaydee. They have been using PRIDE in their work, especially their Reading. 

Most Consistent Player

 Congratulations to Jordan who was awarded the 'Most Consistent Player' for his team during the 2014 Soccer season. 

Writing and Maths Preparation

We have hit the ground running for our first day back. 

Today in writing we watched a video clip about a boy travelling to the moon in a rocket. We began discussing what holiday we would travel back to and throughout the week we will be sharing our diary/recount with others. Lets see what the week will bring and where in the world we will travel back to.

In the afternoon we began creating our own rockets. We will be using the rockets during maths to record how far each rocket can travel. We will be looking at mm, cm, and m.

Certificates for Week 9

Congratulations to Hayley who received the Principal's Certificate for Week 9. She has been persevering with all of the work that she has been given. Keep the focus Hayley and continue to persevere with your work.

Congratulation also to Jordan, Milly, Luke and Dorian. Jordan and Dorian received their PRIDE Certificates for their perseverance with their reading. Milly, Luke and Jordan (again) received PRIDE Certificates for their participation in the MtSpa Cross Country at Manaia last Thursday.

Cross Country @ Manaia

On Thursday Milly, Luke and Jordan went to Manaia to participate in the MtSpa Cross Country. Well done to these three students from our class and all the other students who also ran.

Week 6 Certificates

Luke received the Principal's Award for Week 6. He has been persevering with his running throughout the term in preparation for our cross country. He has managed to run 103 laps around our school during our training sessions.

Congratulations to our PRIDE Certificate recipients. Karome, Cayden, Jordan, Ria and Milly students have also been persevering with their running throughout the term.

Week 4 Certificates

The recipient of the Principal's Award for Week 4 was Jordan. He has been working diligently in class and when he works in Room 10. Keep working diligently Jordan.

Mr McKeller has been working in our class for two days. He awarded Savannah and Kaydee with PRIDE Certificates.

The PRIDE Certificate recipients for Week 4 are Kaydee, Luke and Cameron. They have been demonstrating PRIDE in the class. 

Equivalent Fractions

We are continuing to focus on Fractions in our maths. We have been looking at equivalent fractions. Below are some photos of what we discovered while using foam fraction shapes. 

Reading Activity: Creating Homophone Posters

For a reading activity students were to create a poster demonstrating some homophones. Below you will see some of the posters that have been completed so far.

We have been very busy getting ready for Open Day so we have only just downloaded the photos of the Certificate recipients from Week 6. 

Jordan was the recipient of the Principal's Award.

Principal's Award for Week 4

Milly received the Principal's Award for Week 4. She has been working hard on her spelling. This has shown in both her spelling tests on Fridays as well as in her writing throughout the week. Keep persevering with your spelling Milly.
