Remember to get your "glad rags" or your dress up clothes ready for the first day of school. You can dress any way you like from any era (time). You might like to dress like someone from the 20's or the 60's or even further back like the the 1800's. Remember the best dress up gets a "juicie". Please remind your friends!!!
I am the teacher of Year 1 and 2 students from Opunake Primary School. You will find me in Room 15. Keep a look out for all of the great and wonderful work I will be completing with my class throughout the year.

A Slice of Time
On the first day of Term 2, we would like students to bring items to school for a Time Capsule. In this way we will be able to capture a slice of our time. The capsule will be buried on the school grounds. The items will be photographed and archived on the school blog. The items should represent something that reflects the way we live our lives today, so that when it is opened at the next jubilee it will be like a walk down memory lane. Please keep items fairly small and obviously non perishable.

Invention Writing
We have been working hard to complete our Invention writing. We used the 'Klutz Book of Inventions' as inspiration for our writing.
You will now find these videos and stories on our Individual Blogs. Please have a look at them and make comments about the work that we have completed. Below are some examples of the inspirational writing that helped us to create our own inventions. The examples also helped us with the specific language we should use.
