Making Poi - Day 2

Here are some more photos of us creating our poi today. Thank you to the parents who helped us create our poi. We have some very talented members of the class who were able to pick up plaiting with four strands.
Tomorrow we will be able to use our poi for our song.

He Aha Te Tae? What Colour Is This?

We have completed another entry for our MOA Awards. We have been working on this project for the last five weeks as a part of our Te Reo. This is a topic called He Aha Te Tae? (What colour is this?).

Below are some snapshots of what we have produced. We will be keeping the actual projects a secret until the MOA Awards.

Classroom Objects

This term we have been persevering to learn the Te Reo words for Classroom Objects.
- Today students found different objects and placed them on their desks.
- When their partner wasn't looking, each student had to hide an object.
- Their partner had to then guess which object had been removed (by using the Maori word for the object).

He __________ tēnei. (This is a __________.)

This term students have been learning the māori names for different classroom objects. They have been matching written words and visual images with their english equivalent. To help learn these different objects students have created posters to put up around the classroom.
