Week 9 Certificates

Congratulations to Connor who received the Principal's Award for Week 9. He has shown great perseverance and diligence in all school work that is given to him. Keep up the great work Connor.

Antonym (Opposite) Posters

We have had a busy exciting week with our Reading and Writing. We have been reading about and discussing the differences between the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. This has lead to us writing to different people who live in different countries. We will be posting our emails onto our blog (both our individual and our class blog) when we have finished typing them up.

We have also been discussing antonyms and creating posters demonstrating words opposite in meaning to another (e.g. bad and good).

PRIDE - Swimming Pool Expectations

Over the last few weeks we have been looking at the rules and expectations while at the swimming pool. We have discussed as a class what we should see while at the pool. Members of the class have been putting posters and videos together to show others what we should do and see.

Certificates for Week 8

Congratulations to Tyrel. He received the Principal's Awards for Week 8. He persevered with his alliteration writing independently while most of the class worked in pairs. Keep sharing your great ideas for your writing Tyrel.

Well done to Luke, Levi, Troy, Alex and Sofia for receiving the PRIDE Certificates for Week 8. The boys worked well with their partners to share their alliteration writing. Sofia received her certificate for her focus during her writing while working with her partner.

This week for writing we looked at a poem by Pie Corbett called Zealous Zoo. Each sentence used alliteration to write about a different animal. After reading Zealous Zoo we created our own sentences. Here is our class examples.

Junior Swimming Display - change of date

We have now changed the Junior Swimming Display day to Wednesday 11th March (postponement date Friday 13th March).

We will be having a Junior Swimming Display on Wednesday 11th March or Friday 13th March. We invite parents and whanau to come along and share with us. Each class will show some of the skills we have been learning at swimming time and of course fun activities in the pool.

2:10pm - Room 13 and 16 - Mrs Weir and Mrs Pather
